Essentials

Out Of Hours services in the Ireland rely on a large number of short term visiting doctors and locums to fill both day time (bright-eye) and night time (red-eye) rotas.

Management is often keen to ensure that newly appointed visiting doctors and locums are familiar with local laws and protocols, and up to date with guidelines for treatment of the most common and potentially dangerous conditions.

This “Essentials” section contains selected topics of particular importance in OOH work in Ireland.

Visiting doctors and locums may be asked to complete one or more of these modules and submit the certificates to management either before or soon after start of employment.
